In 1990, Dr. Vivek Marwah founded the Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery Unit at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, the first of its kind in India dedicated to Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Hysteroscopy Surgery.

• During the Global Congress on Gynecologic Endoscopy, Orlando, USA, in November 2000, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists presented him with the ” Kurt Semm award for Excellence in Pelviscopy “. This is the first time an Indian has received this prestigious award!
